I remember with great nostalgia my love for pastries. Beautiful memories from childhood when my father gave me a pink cake with many decorations. When I looked more closely, I could see the details of this beautiful cake and appreciated the attention to detail without knowing what it would mean to me later. My story continued when my father made me a birthday cake every year. Watching him wash his hands and arms to start mixing all the ingredients brought out great emotion for me. Smelling the fresh bread was my happiest moment. As the years went by, I remember playing in the corral "backyard" and pretending to bake cakes and decorating them using duvalin and lunetas (Mexican candies). I never thought that those moments would mean so much to me. I later attended pastry workshops (with well-known bakers in my home town) whenever there was the opportunity. When I left for Guadalajara to continue with my studies in Social Work, I worked part-time in a bakery that was close to my school. Working for this bakery re-awakened in me the beautiful and happy memories of my childhood. After finishing my studies, I emigrated to the United States starting to live another dream. I had the opportunity to go to the university and I completed a master's degree in marriage and family therapy. Shortly after I met my husband and started my own family. I baked cakes for my children's birthdays, and over time I received many compliments and encouragement to start my own business - Fresh Flour bakery was born.
